Indulging MY PASSIONs

Looking out onto the open horizon expanding into my future, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life – what 18 year old does? So, I chose a less vocational field by studying English at the University of Nottingham. For three wonderful years, I wrote short form fiction, analysed Old Norse and debated the finer points of Austen while honing my writing and researching to a fine art.

2020

endings & beginnings

In the midst of the pandemic, I left Nottingham as a 1st Class BA Honours graduate with an essay published in the university journal. Trapped in lockdown, I once again I looked to my constant – writing – combining my skill and experience with a long-held passion for luxury, lifestyle and interiors as PR & Content Assistant for the Home Staging Association UK & Ireland.

As Content, Campaigns & Social Executive for Bridgman Luxury Furniture, I again defined the brand’s premium voice as copywriter, creating all written marketing assets to communicate Bridgman’s design heritage to high-net worth customers and the press. This hugely varied role presented opportunities to take on far broader marketing responsibilities, from managing influencer partnerships to running paid social campaigns, writing press releases and blogs to creating an industry-leading content calendar.

THE PRESENT

My passion for crafting beautiful copy and telling inspiring stories continues to define luxury brands. Constantly striving to learn, I have attended further courses in the form of the NCTJ’s Features Writing Masterclass programme. Leading Bridgman’s copy, communications and marketing campaigns, my efforts continue to establish the business as one of the UK’s strongest luxury home brands. My editorial commentary has now been featured in over 30 national and regional publications including Ideal Home, The Independent and The Express.

2016

THE first foray

An advertising internship with Hogarth Worldwide offered me my first taste of multi-channel copywriting, mentored by the Global Creative Director to create storyboards and scripts for ongoing client campaigns.

MAKING AN IMPACT

During my years of study, I continued writing for pleasure, first as a features writer for HerCampus Nottingham and then Impact Magazine. The latter afforded me the opportunity to move into an editorial position as Head of Online during my final year, garnering Impact the Best Website award, their first Student Publication Award win in over a decade.

2021

DEFINING DESIGN-LED BRANDS

My next opportunity came from Holloways of Ludlow as their first in-house Copywriter, creating the brand’s Style Guide to establish a debonair tone of voice reflecting their design-led furniture collections. Working toward the launch of their new website, I also crafted SEO copy for product descriptions, category and footer pages.

2022

MOVING UP AND MOVING FORWARD

Following a promotion to Content & Social Media Manager, I used 2022 to develop my skills both as a writer and content marketer. Content Marketing Certification reinforced the best ways to craft and utilise unique content, while seven weeks as an M&C Saatchi Open House Trainee offered insight into the innovation and campaign strategies of some of the world’s most affluent brands.

But enough about me…

Just kidding. You are on my website after all. And if I’ve done my job right, I’ve whet your appetite to learn a little more.
That being said, I’d love to hear from you.
